Pond Snails!

These little guys commonly known as River Snails or Mystery Snails (actually called Viviparidae) are new arrivals to our pond. They feed on slimy moss, which is a constant battle for farm ponds. First Melons!

Knowing when to pick watermelons and cantelopes is not quite as easy as it sounds. After spending some time on youtube (you would be surprised at how much gardening info is there), we decided to pick two watermelons and two cantelopes. Everyone was excited. Big Catch!

The watermelon patch is looking pretty good. Every few days I rotate the melons so they don’t spend too much time with any one side of the melon in the mud. Imagine my surprise when I nearly grabbed this little lady.

Mud Garden

Here in TN we’ve had around 4 inches of rain in 4 days. Needless to say, the garden was muddy but there was no shortage of volunteers when it came time to get barefoot and pick some ripe veggies.
