Look closely, and you’ll see a baby calf nursing while Mama cow allows me an up close shot of her and her new calf. So sweet.
Stocking The Pond

Early spring is a good time to add fish to your pond. If you’ve not stocked a pond before, it’s a lot of fun. First we bought our fish from the “fish truck” which is sort of like an ice cream truck for grown men, at our local Co-op.
Next we take the bags to the pond and gently release them into the water. We added 50 bass, 50 catfish, 1000 minnows, and 6 grass carp.

Our resident Canadian goose has a secret. She has six eggs in a nest next to three trees by the pond. We call her Goosey and the male Gander. They visit us each spring for about eight weeks. She let me get within just a few feet of her baby eggs.

With spring just a few weeks away, we were anxious to get the garden tilled and ready for this year’s seeds. If tractors could talk, I know ours would tell you how good it felt to get out of the barn and do some work.
It was also a chance for Faith to learn about PTOs, clutches, and tillers. She was a natural.
You probably didn’t know tractor tires have water in them to add weight…check this out:
“Almost” Spring

Our family enjoyed a nice day outside on the farm. It was warmer but still cool and breezy most of the day. But with baby #7 due anytime, it was a good chance to relax and play together before the new baby gets here.
