The boys found a new tree they liked as a site for a fort. Only trouble was that the main branch where they plan to hang out was just out of reach. Hubbard had an idea and with my permission they found wood and nails and began to build a ladder. They were certainly proud of their new project…and so was I.
Over the horizon, early this morning, we caught a glimpse of 7 or 8 hot air balloons. A little while later, they came right over top of our barn! The kids had a great time waving at all of the passers by.

Sometimes boys just love to dig holes. And after all the work is done, there’s nothing more satisfying than sitting in your freshly dug hole and being proud of your accomplishment.

This was our second year to host our church’s elementary family fall harvest party. Fall days just don’t get much better, with a warm afternoon and a chill in the air by night. Our church family always has a wonderful time together.

Over 200 team members, spouses and kids came out for a fantastic time together this week. These families are all part of the division of The Dave Ramsey Organization that I lead. What a great night of eating, spending time around a fire and best of all seeing our children run and play together. Fall nights are a special time on the farm and it was wonderful to have our friends from work out for a night together.

What a gorgeous fall weekend for a surprise birthday party for Faith’s 13th bday. Lots of friends and family showed up (about 60 people) and made it extra special. We are so proud of Faith!

It’s always fun to swing on this 100 foot long vine. It hangs from a huge ‘shagbark’ hickory tree and kids love to swing on it.

This is what farmers refer to as “bawling” or “baww-lin”. The calves were just seperated from their mama cows and neither the calves or mamas are happy about it.

Saturday was the perfect fall day to celebrate Claude’s 4th birthday on the farm. Lots of sunshine and cooler weather makes for extra fun. Claude is our fifth child of six (soon to be seven!) and the youngest of our four boys.
