Nothing brings out the kid in everyone like a good, loud game of kickball! ; )

The kids pulled this recently deceased snapping turtle out of our pond.  His shell is approx 15″ across.  The turtle would’ve packed quite a ‘snap’ in his day.

An early taste of fall in the air with cooler temps, lots of food, family and friends…it was a perfect day.

 

It’s still too hot at night in Tennessee to actually enjoy a fire; but roasted marshmallows do make it worth the effort!

Let’s just say I do hope that frogs and warts are just an old wives tale…

Just kidding.  Actually these cows are great neighbors and we love to watch them and hear them moo-ing around.

  I nearly stepped on this little caterpillar making his way through the grass.  He sure does work hard just to make it a few feet through the thick grass.

Persimmon is always there for a ride in the golf cart!

Here’s “Sister”, stuck again.  No matter how many times goats get stuck in the fence for hours at a time, they just can’t resist grass on the other side.

Funny thing happened this weekend.  My family went out of town and I had the place all to myself.  I had a list of projects and had looked forward to being able to do things without interruption.  But when I got there, it just wasn’t fun without them…without all the commotion, the “interruptions”, the running and playing.  So I packed up the truck, jumped in, and headed off the join them.  Guess those projects will be there next time…
