One of our cherry bushes, getting ready to bloom. Last year, these two bushes had hundreds of delicious cherries ready to eat right from the bush. Rhonda also made a fantastic homemade cobbler with them!

Don’t know what brings them out in such droves; but the first warm week of spring…you can expect flies…thousands of them…yuck.

Last fall, I cut a hole in the side of my main barn so that the goats could get in out of the worst weather. They’ve loved it. I’ve also been feeding them hay and sweet feed all winter and let’s just say my goats are “well rounded”. But now we’ve also got sheep, are expecting lambs soon, and a new baby goat should arrive this weekend. So I need to separate the larger goats from the sheep/lambs/small goats. So I had this goat barn built in the main goat pen. It’ll give the larger goats a place to hang when I put them out of the barn this weekend. And it’ll give them all a good place to get out of the sun/rain this summer. I had no idea how much sheds cost. 🙂 Let’s just say I’ve got a lot more into the goat barn than I do into the goats…

Last spring, we purchased two small black pygmy goats. We named them Sister & Belle. Belle was extremely small and would not eat or drink. We spent the next three days trying to nurse her to health; but she just continued to get weaker. I went by to get her from the barn and take her into our home to nurse her; but she had died.
The man that sold her to us told me he would bring us a new goat this spring. So here is a picture of the little white female goat we picked and he will bring bringing her to our barn later this week. Nothing like a new baby goat to liven things up! Now we just have to all agree on a name… 🙂

I grabbed this shot Saturday. It’s the first of our Daffodils to bloom. A little sunshine and the rest should pop out this week! Great Easter picture opportunity if you need a good background.
