The boys enjoyed a swim in our pond recently. My wife wasn’t super impressed with me letting them get in there. It did make for a neat brothers pic and some fun memories.

Monsoon-like rain moved our party into the barn loft, but it didn’t dampen our spirits! We had a great time with family and friends celebrating the greatest country in the world.

Ice cold well water…
A less than great day for gardening…
Followed by a few accidental steps…
And then the squirting, and then drying in the sun on the silo pad,

Our daughter Faith invited her high school over for a party to celebrate a wonderful school year and a fun summer break just ahead. We’re big fans of GCA and it was fun to have everyone out to the barn.

Gardening is one of my favorite things we do on the farm. The kids love to help and we love to eat what we grow.

Each spring we enjoy the adventure of corralling and shearing our sheep. We have two breeds; southdown babydolls & miniature cheviots.
Next comes the shearing…
And what’s left is a skinnier, cleaner, ready for spring herd of happy sheep.

There was no shortage of cake today! We celebrated Charles turning 9, cousin Violet turning 8, and cousin Leyna turning 18.
It was also a good day to catch the spring’s first fish.
And everyone still loves the golf cart, even if just to take the trash to the dumpster.
